Corte Parma-Amoretti in Dublin: Rugby as a Platform for international networks

“The value lies not only in the meeting itself, but in the opportunity to build relationships over time”

“When we talk about business, we often focus immediately on objectives and results. But before that, there are people. Getting to know each other, talking and sharing an experience creates the foundation for professional relationships to develop. That is what I found particularly interesting in Dublin. Rugby works its magic!”

Egidio Amoretti, CEO of Corte Parma-Amoretti, reflects on the first edition of the Zebre Business Tour, a project promoted by Zebre Parma in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), which will run throughout the season, creating opportunities for businesses, institutions and international stakeholders to connect through rugby.

The project was launched in Dublin on the eve of the friendly match between Leinster Rugby and Zebre Parma, with an event hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute as part of the third edition of Italian Sports Day in the World. Corte Parma-Amoretti, main sponsor of Zebre Parma, took part in the event alongside representatives of the Italian institutional and business community in Ireland, the franchise’s commercial partners and a delegation from Leinster Rugby.

The guest of honour was Nicola Faganello, Ambassador of Italy to Ireland, who highlighted the role of sport as a tool for diplomacy and as a means of fostering dialogue, economic growth and international relations. His contribution underscored the broader purpose of the project and the potential of rugby to connect the Italian business community with international markets.

Alongside the professional dimension, the experience also took on a more personal character:

“We came back from Dublin with a few more friends: Italians living abroad and people from Dublin. That is something you cannot plan, but it happens naturally when people have the opportunity to meet and share an experience.”

“The value lies not only in the meeting itself, but in the opportunity to build relationships over time. This project will allow us to meet people and companies on different occasions, in different countries and settings.”
